Amanda Bossard was just out of high school when she started her marine biology education at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her professional career in commercial seafood in 1999 when she began working as a crew member on the F/V Sunset 65' halibut schooner that has been a into a salmon tender for Murat Aritan. He has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard has married Aritan. The couple has joined forces and are claiming the respective businesses. Both are in the direction of preserving resources and maximizing profit. Otolith was created at the time of Philadelphia through Bella Bossard and is currently mother to two kids aged 3 and 1, Bossard. Her husband has a long experience in the industry of fish that often means they stay separate for five months or more. This is when they are focusing on their environmental and financial targets. Bossard together with Isabella Andre and Isabella Andre (ages 12, 10 respectively) return each year, starting in July 2016, to Southeast Alaska for the summer catch of wild salmon. In the course of two months, Bossard, along with her daughter Isabella will use hooks and lines to fish for their desired salmon. Aritan will then sell their catch locally to processors.
